The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to undertake their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of the determined fighter (played by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his personal gain, invading the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
The traitor then settled his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
- However, their position as important members in the influential clan could enable the team reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.
